Physical Education Department

In Physical Education lessons we strive for pupils to develop their confidence and team working skills by taking part in a variety of different physical activities and learn about the value of leading a healthy, active lifestyle. In lessons pupils will experience individual and team activities but we also offer an extensive list of extra-curricular to further develop the skills learnt in lesson, with many activities having transferable skills. Not only do they take part in lesson practically they can also take on the role of an official. Pupils at Quarrydale when in PE learn how to overcome obstacles and certain challenges, in some cases overcoming their fears. Regardless of their level of ability they will feel comfortable in the PE department as every child matters. In both KS3 and KS4 pupils will experience the following activities: Aerobics, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Cross-country, Cricket, Fitness, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Orienteering, Rounders, Softball, Rugby and Tennis. We offer many of the above activities as extra-curricular sessions this occurs after school and is available to all.
