Year 7
Our year 7 students are introduced to the Art department by our welcoming Module of Exploring the Visual elements in Art.
This is designed to develop an understanding of the visual elements in art; improve drawing skills, give knowledge and understanding in the application of tone, pattern and texture. Along side a historical context and introduction of the artists Sonia and Robert Delaunay and their work.
Year 8
In year 8 students are encouraged to build upon their skills in order manipulate materials to suit their aims and ideas to generate and refine of their own personal responses to artists work.
Our projects includes; Self Portraiture, Day of the Dead; which leads to mask making and A Tree about Me.
BTEC ART
Designed to enable students to build their own portfolio of work based on practical art and design work, based on a broad topic base of skills including ceramics, design, and visual art and communication.
Students are encourage to be self motivated and take ownership of their own learning journey whilst being both supported and encouraged.
GCSE PHOTOGRAPHY
This course is designed to give students practical study skills that photography requires; hands on experience, technology history and digital imaging.
Students study and analyse the work of other photographer and use this knowledge to enhance and influence their work to develop a personalised approach.
Students are encouraged to produce research and preparation at home and use studio time to translate their ideas though exploring and controlling materials and computer programmes.
